Paper Water Carton
Description: With the ever-growing popularity and use of plastic water bottles, landfills have begun to fill to the brim with these containers that take more than 700 years to biodegrade. Our project is to take an existing recyclable beverage carton, fill it with water, design and make a prototype and Web site. We hope this competition will raise public awareness about water bottles, the massive waste associated with them, and more “green” alternatives.
An Alternate Energy
Our plan is to make a device that uses a dynamic transducer to convert sound waves into kinetic energy and then electrical energy. Our idea uses the same principle as a dynamic microphone, which converts the sound energy of your voice as you sing into it into an electrical signal that is then sent to an amplifier. Our idea cuts out the amplifier and saves the electrical energy that is produced which adds up over time, no matter how small it may be. We envision it to be used in places like rock concerts, or in a busy subway tunnel in downtown Manhattan. These are only a couple uses among many! Imagine the possibilities!
Wind Power from Cars
Have you ever wondered about all the energy that is given out from a standardized combustible car engine? Well we have, and our team consisting of hard-working individuals has developed a novel idea that will revolutionize the method of conserving energy and minimizing the use of gasoline in today’s automobiles. The idea is simple yet very efficient: a portable fan-containing device that uses wind power to generate electrical energy. This energy can be generated from electrical, hybrid, or even standard combustion engine cars. This energy can then be used as a source of power to help compensate for all the energy that is required to run households, cars, boats, etc. The portability of this device allows you to transfer it to any motorized vehicle on land or water currently available today. We can guarantee that this ingenious device’s positives outweigh the negatives by a shutout.
