These students set out to design a car with optimal aerodynamics and fuel efficiency that could meet the varying needs of automotive consumers. Inspired by Legos and Transformers, they conceived a modular vehicle that converts from a small, two-passenger economy car to a sturdy pickup truck, to a family passenger car. Alternate pieces of the chassis slide and lock into place to transform the vehicle for different uses.

The car would run on biodiesel and electric motors.

NIKE, Inc. supported the students by creating a three-dimensional plastic model that demonstrated how the car could easily transform from one configuration to another to accommodate different travel needs.
