I want to volunteer.
Student teams often need extra guidance as they develop projects for the Imagine Tomorrow competition. To enrich our competitors’ learning experience, we invite them to Ask the Experts.
That’s where you come in. If you volunteer, we’ll identify you as an Imagine Tomorrow Expert on a special Web page accessible only to registered students and advisors. The page will direct teams to contact you with questions in your field(s) of expertise.
Students may seek help with development of the project itself (i.e. issues like research methodology, design considerations, or technological hurdles) or with development of their presentation (i.e. building a Web site or PowerPoint presentation).
If you are willing to assist our student teams, we thank you! Please tell us about yourself by answering the questions below.
Area(s) of expertise
Please describe in less than 100 words the expertise you are willing to share with students participating in the Imagine Tomorrow competition (i.e. architectural design, survey methodology, statistics, engineering, advertising/promotion, Web site design, etc.).
Web address
Many individuals have professional Web sites that include information student teams may find
useful as they are determining whom they should contact. If you have such a Web
site and would like to include the Web address, please list it below.
Volunteer Code of Agreement
I agree to adhere to the following guidelines associated with participation in Imagine Tomorrow. I give permission for Imagine Tomorrow to provide my contact information to selected interested students and advisors, unless otherwise noted. I am aware that my name, e-mail address, and area of expertise
may be posted on the Imagine Tomorrow Web site for viewing by teachers and students who have entered the 2010 competition.
For the protection of students and myself, I agree that, if meetings are scheduled, they should take place within normal business hours, with other employees present, either at my workplace or at a supervised school location. In the event of a meeting at a small business or a similar situation in which the student and I might otherwise be alone, I will require that the student’s parent or advisor be present.
If a visit to my workplace is scheduled, I will make appropriate arrangements in accordance with the guidelines of my company/organization, including providing the student with any necessary paperwork. I will check to see that all necessary permission forms have been completed. I will inform students of any safety guidelines related to the workplace. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from my workplace and are not to accept transportation from me or other advisors or meet at off-site locations other than the student’s school.
This agreement is based on guidelines from the Northwest Association for Biomedical Research (NWABR) and from the knowledge and insights of competition organizers.
By checking the button below, I give permission for Imagine Tomorrow
to conduct a Washington State Patrol background check on my criminal history. I understand that I will also need to complete, sign, and return an
authorization form.
